Salgrom implemented discreet fire protection for the Toppelius house with an impulse powder system – a solution that preserves the historic look and provides effective extinguishing.

The nearly 200-year-old Toppelius House in Oulu is a valuable property protected by the Finnish National Board of Antiquities. In connection with the renovation, the authorities required an automatic extinguishing system, but traditional water sprinklers were not possible: it would have required significant structural changes, been very expensive and would have jeopardized the building's historical appearance. The solution was found by Salgrom. A Salgrom impulse powder system was designed and installed on the site, which could be integrated into the structures almost imperceptibly. The system protects the premises effectively without the risk of water damage and preserves the valuable building's original architecture. Impulse powder is a particularly suitable solution for historic and protected buildings, where fire safety must be ensured without visible technical compromises.
