"Pielispakari Oy, located in Nurmes, is a traditional bakery company and the largest manufacturer of Karelian pies in Finland. In smaller towns, skilled labor must be taken care of. We have systematically invested in our operations and the results are visible. Our key figures are better than the averages in the bakery industry and the costs of sick leaves have decreased. During the many years of cooperation, an interesting well-being survey has been carried out for the entire staff, a work ability management steering group has been established, cooperation with occupational health care has been enhanced and superiors have been trained in knowledge-based management and proactive risk management. Leadership has been developed through group and individual coaching, 360-evaluations and target matrices. The organization and individuals have developed enormously.
